Your mission as a Supervisor

Join us as a Supervisor, where you’ll take charge of ensuring high morale among your team while maintaining cost-effective and reliable machine performance. In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping equipment availability above 85%, directly supporting operational productivity and efficiency. Your leadership will safeguard employees, optimize maintenance practices, and empower your team to deliver excellence every shift.
What you’ll do
- Supervise and manage maintenance and breakdown staff, ensuring safe work practices and compliance with standards, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Oversee and carry out repairs of breakdowns and damages, while ensuring proper maintenance of equipment in area of responsibility.
- Appoint and ensure competence of subordinates and contractors, verifying that all personnel and equipment conform to mine standards and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs, spares usage, and condition monitoring, and provide feedback to the maintenance planning system.
- Identify hazards, enforce fire risk standards, and implement remedial measures to eliminate accidents and incidents.
- Control working costs within set parameters, extend component life, and ensure adherence to correct maintenance and repair procedures supported by manuals and documentation.
- Act as a coach and training link, providing technical and behavioral training to subordinates and fostering discipline within the team.
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance of mining/drilling equipment; experience with Epiroc equipment highly advantageous.
- Grade 12 or Matric with Trade Test (Earthmoving Mechanic, Millwright, Electrical), A National Diploma (N6) would be advantageous.
- 1-2 years of demonstrated experience overseeing maintenance teams.
Who you are
- Extensive experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in mining equipment, with strong technical expertise in Epiroc or other OEM equipment.
- Expert leadership in troubleshooting and repairing mining equipment, guiding teams to optimise performance and ensure reliability.
- Proficient in computer literacy, including the Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated ability to generate reports and manage data effectively.
- Excellent communication, customer relations, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
