The Opportunity
Epiroc is seeking experienced Underground Drill Fitters and Workshop/Field Service Technicians (Diesel Fitters) to join our Mt Isa Service team.
You’ll work across our fleet of mobile and heavy equipment in both underground and surface mining environments, carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs, diagnostics and rebuilds while providing technical support to our customers.
We offer 7/7 or 8/6 rosters on 12-hour shifts, with opportunities available for candidates seeking FIFO or residential work in Mt Isa.
Underground Drill Fitter
As an Epiroc Underground Drill Fitter, you will:
- Build strong relationships with customers and team members
- Carry out specialised repairs, rebuilds and preventative maintenance on Epiroc equipment
- Service and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and RCS systems
- Diagnose and resolve complex equipment faults
- Provide high-level technical product support to customers
- Work with Epiroc underground drilling equipment and technology
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with Epiroc and customer SHEQ/WHS requirements
About you
You will ideally have:
- A Mechanical/Heavy Diesel trade qualification, with dual trade or Auto Electrical experience highly regarded
- Experience working with underground drilling equipment
- Epiroc product experience and underground Simba drill experience highly regarded
- Strong understanding of Simba operations and RCS4 systems
- Experience tuning drills to suit ground conditions through RCS4
- Experience navigating RCS4 electrical systems and diagnosing faults
- Customer-facing experience
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance experience
- Heavy mobile plant equipment rebuild experience
Service Technician
As an Epiroc Service Technician, you will:
- Build strong relationships with customers and team members
- Carry out specialised repairs, rebuilds and preventative maintenance on Epiroc equipment
- Service and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and RCS systems
- Diagnose and resolve complex equipment-related issues
- Provide high-level technical product support to customers across the region
- Support heavy mobile plant equipment rebuilds
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with Epiroc and customer SHEQ/WHS requirements
About you
You will ideally have:
- A Mechanical, Heavy Diesel, Electrical, Hydraulic or similar trade qualification
- Customer-facing experience
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance experience
- Heavy mobile plant equipment rebuild experience
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Epiroc product experience highly regarded
- Rotary blast hole drill experience highly regarded
