Mission

Your mission as R&D engineer Electrical is to develop and maintain the electrical control system and components for all products produced in Epiroc Nanjing SRD, including drill & blast and exploration machines, to meet customer and market needs.

Specific Areas of Responsibility

You as R&D engineer Electrical will be working in new development projects which to take our products to the next level of performance but also with existing products where we focus on small and effective improvements. Your work covers concept development and realization, handing over to serial production, products maintenance and continually improvement. Internal cross functional contacts are essential as well as external contacts with supplier and others.

The main tasks for the R&D engineer are:

• Develop and design electrical systems for surface drilling equipment for new product development
• Maintain and modify the systems for continuous product improvement process
• Develop special designs to meet special customer requests and provide the essential supporting calculations.
• Prepare Bills of Material (BOM) and provide purchasing department with product specifications
• Develops engineering documentation.
• Define and select electrical components
• Recommend and communicate with suppliers
• Support sourcing group in selecting and qualifying suppliers
• Assist manufacture on any electrical system or component related issues and find solutions
• Assist technical service and customer centers on any field problems related to electrical systems or components
• Follow the company and international standards for all the designs
• Write new test procedures when needed
• Occasional travel for business development and customer visit

Hiring Qualification

Education:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, higher degree is preferred.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

• 3 years’ work experience of electrical design in heavy machinery field, prefer to mining or drilling machinery experience. 0-3 years’ work experience can be accepted if excellent graduate with master degree in electrical engineering.

• Willing to work in a manufacture environment
• Willing to work in rough working conditions such as mines and construction sites
• Strong background in electrical system design with focus on vehicle control systems
• 3D/2D design and draft ability for components and system schematics
• Knowledge in field bus technologies, CAN and Ethernet communication.
• Experience in programming controllers, CodeSYS 3.5 is preferred.
• Experience in vehicle application controllers and HMI, IFM hardware is preferred.
• Familiarity with new energy systems or industry PC is preferred.
• Experience and knowledge in wire harness design
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards of off-road mobile machinery products.
• Knowledge of engineering design software, e.g. AutoCAD and Creo.
• Excellent command of English (both oral and written).
