Electrical Engineer
Nanjing, JS, CN, 210038
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play an integral part in the development and design of electrical control systems for new underground drilling machinery. Your work will involve collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure electrical systems meet stringent functional safety and industry standards such as ISO 13849 and IEC 62061. You will be responsible for the embedded control software development, implementing advanced functions like motion control, sensor data processing, and communication protocols tailored to rugged mining conditions.
The role demands proficiency in industrial communication protocols including CAN bus and EtherCAT, with responsibilities that extend to debugging and optimizing these systems to ensure operational robustness. You will design and implement control algorithms such as PID control, state machine logic, and fault diagnosis features to enhance equipment intelligence and safety.
Other key responsibilities include conducting thorough functional testing and on-site system debugging, preparing detailed technical documentation such as design specifications, test reports, and user manuals, and supporting the entire product lifecycle from new product development to continuous improvement aligned with the company’s technology strategy and modular design roadmap.
Collaboration with Product Owners is essential in managing Field Service Management forums to resolve product issues reported from the field. Ongoing competence development through customer visits and training programs is supported to deepen understanding of legal requirements, customer needs, and technological advancements. You will contribute to refining global engineering processes, tools, and methods, and may provide customized design solutions and calculations to meet specific customer requests.
Responsibilities also include preparing Bills of Material (BOM), defining and selecting electrical components, and liaising with purchasing and technical service departments to support product maintenance and troubleshooting. Travel may be required occasionally to visit customers or business development sites, often in challenging underground or construction environments.
