Import Specialist

Job Mission

Perform a range of activities to facilitate highly efficient/security/lower cost inbound delivery and other related for increasing customer satisfaction, this must be followed the company policies as stated in the Epiroc way, including the Code of Conduct and Trade Compliance rules, and other Chinese governments regulations if applicable.

Job Description:

1. Coordinate with buyer, forwarder, oversea suppliers for fulfilling picking, stuffing, booking, export procedures and loading issues at oversea original.
2. Keep close tracking on inbound shipments status, maintain tracking system & import statistics, and assure relative people could get timely and accurate shipping information via timely updated.
3. Prepare customs declarations with necessary documents and licenses that describe the goods being shipped correctly, and process customs declaration timely and correctly followed by all import regulations.
4. Define a right harmonized code based on correct and full technical information, meanwhile together with team continuously build and perfect harmonized code database.
5. Handle duty bonded goods in accordance with duty bonded handbook management procedures.
6. Distinguish prohibited, restricted and dual-use item before import, operate import process according to relative legal requirement.
7. Assure competitive freight price/shorter lead time/reliable service is always selected through request of quotation, effective price comparison, negotiation and good understanding of business requirement& freight market status.
8. Manage the third logistic provider including customs broker, freight forwarder and others through effective performance review, assessment, improvement action plan, and so on.
9. Improve operations efficiency, optimize import process for achieving lead time shorten and cost saving through continuous analysis, new solution, etc.
10. Manage the business with a trade-compliant attitude for assuring both cost and operations efficiency by applying trade compliance tools such as FTA, Customs code & value, etc.
11. Other duties assigned.

Experience Requirements;

  1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar functions.

  2. Excellent experience with customs and HS code skills, good knowledge and experience with trade compliance will be preferred.

  3. Good understanding of transportation management and international logistics.

  4. Good presentation skills are necessary.

  5. Familiar with computer skills such as MS office, Power Point.

Knowledge / Educational Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above, logistics or international trade will be preferable.

  2. Fluent in oral, reading and written English.

  3. Basic knowledge about machinery related is preferable.
