Product Manager - Platform Blasthole Drills (ADS) at Epiroc, Nanjing

Join Epiroc's Underground Division in Nanjing as a Product Manager responsible for the strategic management and continuous development of our Portfolio of Platform Blasthole Drills (ADS). This role is vital to maintaining and enhancing our position as a market leader in equipment and services tailored for the mining industry.

About the Role

As the Product Manager, you will lead the alignment of the Nanjing PC Blasthole Drill portfolio with the Global Product Line strategy, ensuring product competitiveness, customer relevance, and sustainable profitable growth. You will act as the central interface between customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, driving product lifecycle management and new product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze global and Chinese mining markets, identifying key trends and customer needs through comprehensive market surveys and data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a long-term product roadmap that aligns with Epiroc’s Global Product Line strategy, ensuring strategic coherence and business growth.
  • Continuously improve the existing product portfolio focusing on functionality, quality, and cost efficiency based on market feedback and performance metrics.
  • Generate detailed product specifications and compelling business cases to support the development and enhancement of new products.
  • Prepare pricing proposals and perform cost analyses in accordance with portfolio governance policies to optimize profitability.
  • Maintain an up-to-date competitive portfolio encompassing product specifications, market activities, and market share dynamics.
  • Develop and update Machine Order Templates and logic configurations to streamline sales and order processes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications to develop core product content, including technical data, value-based sales arguments, and promotional materials such as brochures and presentations.
  • Conduct product and application training for Customer Centers Sales teams and internal Product Manager cohorts to enhance product knowledge and customer interaction capabilities.
  • Support Customer Centers and Regional Business Managers with application studies, capacity calculations, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses to ensure effective product positioning and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and execute product launches and targeted sales campaigns in partnership with regional teams and marketing departments.
  • Track and analyze product portfolio performance metrics to drive continuous improvements and schedule timely product updates throughout the lifecycle.
  • Take active part in cross-functional product development projects, leading pre-study phases, and acting as Product Owner to ensure successful project delivery and market fit.
  • Regularly engage with customers at their sites to gather direct feedback, validate product performance under real-world conditions, and integrate customer and operator needs into the product development process.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Commercial studies, or a related field; a Mining Engineering degree is highly preferred.
  • At least 6 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Service, and/or Engineering within the mining industry, preferably in a Product Company or Customer Center.
  • Demonstrable experience working with mining customers and a firm grasp of the mining and construction industry, especially surface drilling applications.
  • Strong technical background coupled with commercial insight.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory for effective communication in our global environment.
  • Project management experience is a valuable asset.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills are advantageous.
