Prototype Lab Technician

About the Role

As a Prototype Lab Technician, you will be responsible for assembling new prototypes following established quality, safety, and environmental standards. You will coordinate functional testing — including operation, troubleshooting, and validation — and collaborate cross-functionally with the Lab Workshop Supervisor to ensure timely access to necessary materials and resources. Participation in field testing and supporting the startup and commissioning processes for domestic customers will also be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and build new prototypes according to project specifications and quality requirements.
• Conduct and coordinate functional tests on prototypes, performing detailed troubleshooting and reporting any quality or improvement findings to the project team.
• Collaborate actively with engineers and workshop supervisors to manage resources and ensure efficient workflow.
• Participate in on-site field tests, both in open pit and underground mines, ensuring real-world validation of prototypes.
• Support startup and commissioning activities for customers, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to operational use.
• Adhere strictly to company policies related to quality, safety, and environmental protection.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education level: Junior technical school education or higher; preference for candidates with junior college degree or above.
• Mechanical aptitude with skilled experience in locksmith work and mechanical assembly.
• Strong practical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in assembly, testing, and commissioning within industrial or mining equipment contexts.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Atlas Copco/Epiroc preferred, highlighting familiarity with our product environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly and perform work in diverse environments including underground and open-pit mining sites.
• Proficiency in English is advantageous, supporting communication in an international context.
