About the role

Epiroc has operated in China for more than 30 years, establishing a strong local presence across production, R&D, sourcing, and market expansion. As China’s mining and construction landscape and global impact evolves at unprecedented speed, we are strengthening our strategic capabilities to stay ahead.

This is a high‑impact role that will work closely with China leadership and global executives to shape long‑term strategic direction, support business growth, and ensure alignment between China operations and Group strategy.

You will act as a trusted strategic partner—providing independent, fact‑based analysis, building insight into China’s evolving ecosystem, and supporting execution of priority initiatives across M&A, partnerships, technology, operations and market development. Although this role is advisory and has no line authority, it offers extensive exposure and opportunity to impact strategic direction together with top management.

The role reports to Group Vice President, Strategy and M&A and has a dotted reporting line to our Greater China President.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic advisor to China leadership, shaping priorities through insight‑driven analysis and ensuring plans are well‑aligned and actionable.

  • Drive market intelligence and opportunity scanning, identifying partnership and ecosystem opportunities with leading Chinese OEMs and technology innovators.

  • Collaborate closely with divisions and global key account teams to provide China‑specific insights that strengthen customer strategies and market positioning with emphasis on Africa, Latin America, Central- and South-East Asia.

  • Support M&A and strategic investment activities across China and Southeast Asia, contributing to evaluations, business cases, valuation and coordination through the approval process.

  • Serve as a China subject‑matter expert, connecting China operations with global strategy and facilitating cross‑functional alignment on high‑priority initiatives.

Experience and requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Strategy, M&A, Management Consulting, Corporate Development, or similar roles.

  • Strong strategic thinking and financial acumen, with experience in evaluating M&A and business cases.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Experience working in or with global industrial/ technology companies is an advantage.

  • Degree in Business, Management, Economics, Finance or relevant fields.

  • Previous experience in Chinese and international markets.

  • Comfortably operating in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

  • Fluent spoken and written Mandarin and English are mandatory.

Location
