Supplier Quality Engineer

Mission

Ensure and develop a competent & committed supplier base for PC Nanjing and beneficial to all divisions. The supplier base should serve our supply chain and product development to meet our targets according to our strategy and plans

Maintain and drive all activities and resources to achieve stable and right supplier quality performance from supplier introduction, initial sample introduction to mass production

Specific Areas of Responsibility

1. Supplier quality engineer is overall responsible for supplier quality management: from production assembly to testing, to audit, and to supplier quality field performance
2. Focus on preventative activity in supplier side and manage right & stable supplier quality result, to achieve supplier quality best operational and field performance
3. Supplier quality engineer as the TSQP (Total Supplier Quality Process) owner is responsible for all defined activities were implemented properly
4. Supplier introduction:
   1. Deep interaction with sourcing engineer on potential supplier investigation
   2. Lead ‘Epiroc process audit’ for new suppliers (also initiate periodic audit to existing suppliers), support sourcing engineer on ‘Epiroc supplier audit’
5. Initial sample management:
   1. Be responsible for initial sample quality verification at supplier site basing on drawing, specification and other Epiroc requirements per initial sample process
   2. Work out quality control documents based on the Epiroc requirements according to SPA (Sourcing Parts Approval) process requirements
6. Mass production quality management:
   1. Monitor supplier quality data & performance by use of ‘Supplier Collaboration Portal’ periodically
   2. Monitor supplier side Epiroc components quality influence factors (5M1H) status periodically
   3. Handle the claims from IQC and customer site, and apply concession approval if need
   4. Lead supplier side RCA by using quality tools (like 8D, CAR etc.) according to the severity of the issue
   5. Lead SQDP (Supplier Quality Development Process) for the supplier which can't reach QPI target
   6. Drive preventive actions to achieve supplier right & stable quality performance in Epiroc production and in customer field
7. Continuous improvement:
   1. Identify the improvement opportunity based on full understanding of the supplier's production processes and key control points, or react on defects findings
   2. Initiate and implement continuous quality improvement activities per opportunity finding at supplier side
   3. Initiate resourcing proposals and drive for implementation with Sourcing engineer
8. Others
   1. Work with interface functions to handle supplier quality related issues from other department

Hiring Qualification

Education:

University graduate or above, majored in mechanical engineering, or related technical area

Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

1. 3~5 years working experiences or more in supplier quality engineer or quality related area. Experienced in production / production technique
2. Technical background in structure welding, construction machinery industry or equal industry should be better.
3. Knowledge of quality management system (ISO 9000 / TS16949)
4. Good problem solving skill, good practice on quality tools like 8D, 5 WHY and continue improvement
5. Ability to solve problems in a structured manner
6. Good technical and analytic skills with extensive experience in supplier manufacturing process
7. Have a strong drive, leadership and ability to develop and improve the supplier base
8. Good execution, positive attitude, resolute and high drive for results
9. Good communication (verbal and written) and social skills
