About the Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will focus on the top-level integration of electrical infrastructure systems for prototypes and cutting-edge technologies developed by Epiroc. Your expertise will contribute directly to designing and developing critical electrical systems including power infrastructure, grid connections, ventilation systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and EV charging solutions. You will support both global R&D initiatives and localized projects, ensuring all solutions comply with international standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer various mechanical and electrical system types, covering areas such as medium and low voltage (MV/LV) power conversion, safety protection, distribution systems, microgrid setups, ventilation systems, EV charging stations, and energy storage architectures.
  • Create detailed CAD models, run simulations, and produce precise design drafts of systems and components using advanced CAD and simulation tools.
  • Lead prototyping and assembly efforts for various systems and components, validating concepts through hands-on development and testing.
  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Coordinate with key suppliers and partners for evaluation, selection, and continuous development, fostering strong relationships that support innovation and quality.
  • Conduct research and define testing protocols to assist in system validation and refine design specifications based on test results.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor's or Master's engineering degree with a strong foundation in electrical circuits, power systems, and/or mechanical systems.
  • Solid understanding of control systems fundamentals and programming logic related to mechatronic system control.
  • Demonstrated strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities, essential for designing and troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of manufacturing techniques and experience with prototype development.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in engineering roles relevant to electrical system integration and development.
  • Advanced skills in manufacturing and prototyping techniques, complemented by proficiency in advanced CAD and simulation software.
  • Basic programming knowledge to understand and influence control of mechatronic assemblies.
  • Experience with battery electric technologies including inverters, electric motors, EV charging systems, and power infrastructure such as microgrids and ventilation control.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools such as Siemens Teamcenter and Windchill, as well as project management software including JIRA and Asana.
