About the Role

As a Technical Engineer, you will independently complete product mechanical designs, including structural design, component selection, and the creation of detailed design drawings. Your expertise will enable you to prepare precise process requirements and assembly specifications, ensuring products are both functional and manufacturable.

You will actively propose optimization suggestions and technical improvements to solve existing challenges, enhancing product quality and operational efficiency. Additionally, you will be responsible for compiling and organizing all relevant technical documents, drawings, and data to support manufacturing and maintenance processes.

Safety is paramount in our operations. You will demonstrate astute safety awareness and strictly comply with company and customer site safety regulations, contributing to a secure working environment. You will also support other tasks as assigned by your supervisor, showing flexibility and commitment to team goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive product mechanical design phases independently, including structural analysis and component evaluation.
  • Create and deliver technical drawings and prepare assembly instructions and process documentation.
  • Apply finite element simulation analysis software and other design tools to validate design concepts and optimize product performance.
  • Perform calculations related to hydraulic systems, select appropriate components, and plan efficient piping layouts.
  • Continuously analyze problems and develop effective technical solutions and design enhancements.
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety standards and company policies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, following Epiroc Way standards.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within engineering machinery or mining machinery sectors.
  • Strong foundation in mechanical design principles, hydraulic transmission, and machining and assembly processes.
  • Proficiency in using various mechanical design software including finite element analysis tools and data analysis applications.
  • Experience calculating hydraulic systems, component selection, and designing piping layouts is essential.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) to communicate effectively in an international work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to work under the guidelines of the Epiroc Way, embracing our values and operational standards.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Design and Automation, Vehicle Engineering, Hydraulic Transmission and Control, or a closely related field.
