About the Role

As a Verification and Validation Engineer at Epiroc, you will play a key role in ensuring that our R&D design solutions meet customer requirements and industry standards. You will be responsible for verifying and validating designs for construction and mining equipment, with a focus on safety, reliability, and productivity. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in highly electrified mobile construction vehicles and advanced automated machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify R&D design solutions according to customer needs and specification requirements, ensuring compliance and performance accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with professional engineering teams to plan and execute checking or testing activities, leveraging analysis outputs such as System Requirements Specifications (SyRS).
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, methods, and proposals tailored to specific product and project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain test management procedures to standardize processes and enhance test efficiency.
  • Coordinate review meetings for test proposals and results, facilitating informed decision-making and consensus within cross-functional teams.
  • Represent R&D during the execution of tests, actively participating and offering technical guidance to resolve issues during testing phases.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support during tests to accelerate troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Manage detailed and accurate test reports, documenting methodologies, results, and recommendations.
  • Partner with international sites and departments to continuously improve test quality, methodologies, and efficiency through knowledge sharing and best practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) and Mandarin Chinese is mandatory for effective communication across global teams and local stakeholders.
  • Experience or background in construction and mining machinery, particularly mobile construction vehicles with advanced electrification systems, is highly advantageous.
  • Strong electrical knowledge concerning high-level automation systems for vehicles, including CAN bus communication principles and electronic control network architectures.
  • Proven experience in test and verification processes within product development environments.

Desired Skills and Behaviors

  • Proficiency in closed-loop test lifecycle management, including requirements capture, test design, execution tracking, and reporting, using tools like Jira, Polarion, and other professional test management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently define test requirements, design effective test protocols, and deliver comprehensive evaluation reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-departmental communication skills to align diverse stakeholders, foster collaboration, and build consensus between R&D teams and business units.
  • Strong meeting facilitation capabilities, with experience leading planning, review, and acceptance meetings; adept at tracking action items and driving timely closure.
  • Data-driven decision-making approach using analytical tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, and MATLAB to interpret test data and generate actionable insights for product enhancement and innovation.
