Job Mission

Taking a lead role in Hydraulics and Product Technical Responsible in design and development throughout the product development life cycle to meet performance, reliability, quality and cost objectives of the program.

Job description

• This position is responsible for Hydraulics Components design at Under Ground Mining Equipment Division for Material Handling Equipment's (Dump Trucks and Scoop Trams).
• Size and selection of hydraulic components like different pumps, control valves, Circuits, Motors, cylinders, filters and Accumulators at detailed technical specifications. Taking New technology initiatives, Optimization of circuits, cost targets, localization and supplier interactions with COE (center of excellence)
• Hydraulic design deficiencies including product verification phase, by deploying scientific methodologies to analyze Field issues, Safe Applications, MTTF evaluation for Product Reliability
• Boundary diagram, Functional documents, Safe Functions, Controls requirement, Aux Motors, Gear-Piston Pumps including Load sense and EH actuators, open & closed control center, Proportional valves, flow optimization, P CAN Software, PLC coding systematic reviews with the concerned CFT and Global R&D Team.
• ARV/MRV pressure requirements, Cycle times, stall loads, HST, Hydraulics Loss, Hydraulic cooling, Return/Suction Filters, Hydraulic Tank, lifting capacity, break out etc. Rich hands-on hydraulic calculations and right selections with innovations, automation, cost of ownership in delivering best product across global products
• Knowledge of hydraulic controls like CAN/P CAN, Controls Logic to meet EV/Diesel functionality, Data Mapping, Data Analytics, Power Optimization in Hydraulics applications, basic knowledge on instrumentation like Hydrotechnic, Data analytics, diagnostics and troubleshooting, cost-effective solutions.
• Basic understanding of electro-hydraulic systems and their control software like IQAN, Rexroth Bodas, MATLAB etc. 
• Mentor colleagues in technical core competency, supporting lead in testing and validation activities, ensuring compliance & legal requirements.

• Ensure Proper Technical File Maintain & Upgrade Time to time for assigned products related to hydraulics technology roadmap, future needs, innovations, Customer needs. Full Product according to CE Documentation Checklist.

Projects and cross functional activities

• Be the receiver of results from product development projects.
• It is especially important to confirm and agree that the new –or modified Products fulfil the Reliability targets as defined in the project scope.
• Be Technical Product Responsible in new product and/or basic development project
• As Technical Product Responsible included in the Engineering Sub Project team:
  • • Supply an updated Reliability base line for your Product and its functional groups together with the Design Area Responsible (DAR) and the Control System Development Centre Responsible (CDC).
    • The reliability base line together with your own experience will serve as a foundation setting realistic reliability targets within the project.
• Act as Technical Project Manager in new product and/or basic development projects when suitable
• Act as cross-functional case holder for large or complex CPI cases when suitable (e.g. Product safety cases, Functional Development cases or Customer Specials)
• Act as temporary case holder for Customer Special Orders until the formal case holder is appointed according to the Customer Special Order process. 

Product improvements and documentation

• Initiate / secure needed changes and improvements of the product/Prioritization
• Secure proper coordination when implementing changes and improvements
• Be the owner of the CPI (Continuous Product Improvement)
• All CPI cases relating to your Product (incl. all Product Safety cases) shall be properly documented and continuously kept up-to date in the CPI Priority tool.
• Follow up CPI cases regularly to secure progress and “Highlight important CPI cases to the CPI Product Team via your leadership” – as key input to overall prioritizations.
• Be the owner of the Check Lists BOM for overall Product configuration as well as Product BOM for continuous cost follow-up
• Secure proper handling of Change Notice (CN):
  • • Always consider PK effects, and find the optimal balance between PK and Reliability, when approving CN: s. When applicable also seek approval from the Product Manager role in Marketing.

• Work continuously to ensure that product specification is fulfilled to improve and safeguard the Product reliability both on present Products and in projects.
• Establish and take advantage of an effective reliability KPI for your product/s.
• Track and analyze the actual trend of performance and reliability level during operation in different applications and conditions (e.g. normal, abuse, remote, autonomous)

Experience & Educational requirements

• M.E / M. Tech / PHD/ B.E. / B. Tech degree in Mechanical / Agricultural Engineering from reputed institutions
• 10-15 years in Construction/Mining Equipment Lead in R&D, Led Complete NPD project/Hydraulics in experience through product life cycle
• Wheel Loaders and Underground Mining Loaders will be added to Advantage and Preferable
