Job Description – IMS Engineer

Purpose of the Role

Support the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS) by ensuring compliance with ISO standards, statutory requirements, and organizational SHEQ objectives.

Key Responsibilities

IMS Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Maintain IMS documentation, records, and procedures.
  • Coordinate internal/external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Monitor CAPA implementation and support Management Review Meetings.

IMS Program Implementation

  • Support deployment of SHEQ initiatives across departments.
  • Conduct compliance audits, HIRA/JSA reviews, and monitor IMS objectives and KPIs.

Training & Awareness

  • Conduct induction, refresher, and awareness training for employees and contractors.
  • Develop training materials and maintain training records.

Incident Management

  • Coordinate reporting and investigation of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and monitor closure of corrective actions.

Environmental Management

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and consent conditions.
  • Monitor waste management, emissions, water, and resource consumption.
  • Support sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.

Fire Prevention & Emergency Preparedness

  • Monitor inspection and maintenance of fire protection systems.
  • Coordinate fire drills, emergency preparedness activities, and statutory fire compliance.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare monthly SHEQ reports and compliance dashboards.
  • Drive continual improvement initiatives and support digitalization of IMS processes.

Qualification

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
  • ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) – Mandatory

Experience

  • 3–4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems, statutory compliance, internal audits, and environmental management.
