Job Description – Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) Engineer:

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspection of raw materials & bought-out parts as per inspection plans and specifications.
  • Verify supplier material test certificates and other quality documents.
  • Conduct dimensional & visual inspections using appropriate measuring instruments.
  • Review incoming inspection records and maintain traceability of inspected materials.
  • Identify, segregate and control non-conforming materials.
  • Communicate quality issues to suppliers and coordinate corrective actions to ensure the quality of regular supply parts.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards and internal procedures.
  • Monitor calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Maintain quality records and prepare inspection reports.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain and review Layout Inspection Plans for critical components.
  • Perform Layout Inspection for critical parts to ensure part conformity & Corrections.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of quality tools and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to select appropriate gauges and instruments based on drawing requirements.
  • Understanding of material specifications and testing requirements.
  • Aware of general manufacturing processes & standards.
  • Knowledge of defect identification and classification.

  • B.E./ B. Tech in Mechanical / Production.
