Job Description - Senior Engineer - Purchase

Senior Purchase Engineer is having responsibility to coordinate with key suppliers, monitor KPI:s for suppliers such as delivery precision, lead time performance and lead-time accuracy. Ensure supply by providing the forecast to the suppliers, take ownership of on time part availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• To achieve this, we would like to have dedicated resources focusing on following commodities: Fabrication, Machining & OEM. Also to work on Kanban concept with the suppliers.
• Knowledge & understanding of EXIM and customs related activities.
• Organize supplier co-planning meetings to assure capacity of supply at key suppliers in global & Local demand planning forecasts.
• Ownership of delivery precision from suppliers.
• Sign, follow up (maintain) and keep total ownership of parts to be arranged on time for production.
• Support forecast accuracy improvement activities & understanding of BOM structure.
• Monitor supplier performance KPIs and drive improvement activities to reduce lead times, improve delivery performance and support quality improvements.
• Support improvements of the supply flow to ensure we source in the right region based on country of origin and demand with zero shortage & on time delivery.
• Educate suppliers on how delivery performance is measured and how orders are handled at suppliers i.e., POs, emails, confirmations.
• Provide inputs into MOQ and order multiple optimizations from supplier.
• Should be Agile, Quick learner with Problem solving attitude.
• Able to work with CFT.

Competences, skills and experience:

• Degree in supply chain, operations, or related degree.
• 5-7 years relevant experience in the same field.
• Experience in the Fabrication, Machining & OEM.
• Experience in end-to-end supply chain management, inventory management, and project management.
• Ability to develop supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Power BI
• Prior experience working with MRP tools a plus.
• Strong English communication skill both verbal and written. Additional language will be preferred.
• Good knowledge of understanding the production plan and accordingly schedule and PO release to vendor.
