Job Description - Mechanical Powerpack and Driveline System Responsible - R & D

Job Mission

 Taking a lead role in Powertrain System design and development throughout the product development life cycle to meet performance, reliability, quality and cost objectives of the program.

 Job description

  • This position is responsible for Powertrain System and Components design at Surface Division for Drilling Equipment.
  • Lead powertrain system design and development for mining equipment, ensuring adherence to performance, efficiency, and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze and optimize powertrain components to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Integrate powertrain systems seamlessly into overall equipment design through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Plan and execute comprehensive testing and validation procedures to meet performance and durability targets.
  • Complete Design and Development: Engine Selection, Power- Eco Mode torque selection, Aftertreatment Selection/Integration, DEF/AdBlue along with Cold Start/Hot, Engine Peripherals
  • Air intake system Design, Cooling system (Radiator, hydraulic, transmission, Fuel Cooler along with & Optimized Fan Selection, Transmission selection (Manual/Torque-converter/Transaxle/HST) selection, Coupling selection, Exhaust system installation (EGR, NVH, DOC, and SCR) selection, Fuel System (CRS, Mechanical engine, schematic layout), Clutch (diaphragm type) and Tire-Rim, Engine Mounts, propeller shaft, levers and controls.
  • Working with Electric Drives and integration of same with Hydraulic an pneumatic systems.
  • Develop and implement test protocols to validate powertrain system performance under various conditions.
  • Mentor junior engineers in testing and validation activities, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to enhance testing and validation processes.
  • Ensuring timely permanent solutions for Powertrain deficiencies that get surfaced during the product verification phase, by deploying scientific methodologies to analyze failures and fix it.
  • Proactive role in optimizing performance, reliability and cost targets through systematic reviews with concerned CFT and Global R&D Team.
  • Engine selection, driveline selection, vehicle performance and Engine aux design
  • Ensuring timely permanent solutions for Powertrain design deficiencies that get surfaced during the product verification phase, by deploying scientific methodologies to analyze failures and fixing it
  • Proactive role in optimizing performance, reliability and cost targets through systematic reviews with concerned CFT and global team
  • Ensure Proper Technical File Maintain & Upgrade Time to time for assigned products related to Powertrain Component selection and Product Powertrain System Calculation.
  • Prepare & own Test & verification of Powertrain Components and Full Product according to CE Documentation Checklist.

 

Experience requirements

 Working experience of around 15 to 20 Years in Construction / Mining Equipment Powertrain System design and development. For Surface mining products.

 Knowledge

  • Is competent and aware of current, state-of-the-art Powertrain technologies.
  • Highly motivated & self-driven engineering professional with an Innovation fueled approach
  •  Ideally a Creative thinker and at the same time a problem solver & decision maker in whole product development cycle.
  •  Good understanding of Powertrain planning for Homologation and regulatory procedures.
  •  Design and tune core component installation and component operating environment within the vehicle, in accordance with the installation guidelines / Subsystem Design Specifications
  • Engine selection, driveline selection, Cooling system design, vehicle performance and Engine aux design
  • Proficiency in Creo and Teamcenter.
  • Experience in designing Surface mining products is an added advantage

 Educational requirements

 M.E / M. Tech / B.E. / B. Tech degree in Mechanical / Agricultural Engineering from reputed institutions
