AHS Automation Performance Manager

The Automation Performance Manager plays a crucial role in optimising the efficiency and productivity of autonomous mining operations at site. The primary responsibility of this role is to assess, analyse, and enhance the overall performance of the autonomous mine site by implementing strategic initiatives and recommending process improvements.
This role involves working closely with mining operations teams, management, and other project stakeholders to identify areas for enhancement and ensure that operations align with autonomous mining best practices.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
Safety:
- Ensure that performance improvements align with safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Ensure implementation and compliance with the Code of Practice for Safe Mobile Autonomous Mining in Western Australia.
- Collaborate with safety officers to integrate safety measures into all operational enhancements.
Performance Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of mining site operations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Analyse data related to production output, equipment performance, and workforce efficiency to determine key performance indicators (KPIs).
Process Optimisation:
- Evaluate and improve mining processes, workflows, and systems to streamline operations and minimise downtime.
- Identify and recommend technological advancements that can positively impact mining site efficiency.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communicate performance improvement strategies and results to mining operations, management, and other stakeholders.
- Foster positive relationships with the product company to leverage resources and expertise.
- Drive better customer satisfaction and achieve long-term sustainable relationships with the customer.
Continuous Improvement:
- Support the visualisation and submission of Continuous Improvement ideas.
- Participate in activities such as change management, functional safety, and training material development.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Utilise data analytics tools and methodologies to derive actionable insights and make informed recommendations for performance enhancement.
- Implement monitoring systems to track performance metrics and assess the impact of improvements over time.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AHS Performance Specialists and Data Analysts.
- Build strong internal and external relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
- Provide regular performance feedback, set clear goals, and support the professional growth of team members.

Work experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is advantageous.
- Proven experience in mining operations with a focus on performance improvement.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of mining equipment, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desirable:
- Experience with autonomous mining systems (AHS) and associated operational technologies.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement frameworks and methodologies.
- Exposure to large-scale open cut mining operations.
