About the Role
As a Data Analytics Specialist, you will take a leading position in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level Power BI dashboards and reports that are critical for day-to-day business operations and executive insights. Your expertise in data modelling, particularly with dimensional modelling techniques, will ensure that analytical solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with best practices.
Your responsibilities will include translating complex business requirements into practical analytical tools, identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities by analyzing operational datasets such as LinkOA ADS and LinkOA AHS, and developing key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards, and performance measures that support contractual and customer performance tracking.
You will manage data extraction and preparation activities, maintaining high standards of data quality, integrity, and consistency across all analytical outputs. Another key aspect of the role is to establish and uphold data governance frameworks, reporting standards, and quality assurance practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain robust data models following dimensional modelling best practices.
- Translate complex business needs into effective data-driven solutions supporting operational and executive decision-making.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets from mining technology environments, particularly LinkOA ADS and LinkOA AHS, to identify trends and potential risks.
- Create and monitor KPIs and performance metrics aligned with business goals.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems and datasets.
- Develop reusable semantic models and datasets to promote scalability and consistency across reporting tools.
- Implement data governance, reporting standards, and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate extensively with operational leaders, ICT, training teams, and customers to prioritize analytics development and enhance data literacy throughout the organization.
- Present complex analytical findings clearly to leadership and recommend data-supported improvements.
- Mentor junior data analytics staff to foster high standards in report quality and modelling.
Essential Competences and Skills
- Experience working with time-series databases, such as InfluxDB, and analysing large-scale operational telemetry data.
- Demonstrated experience delivering scalable analytics solutions using Databricks or other modern cloud data platforms.
- Extensive experience with Power BI, including strong capabilities in DAX and Power Query.
- Proficient in SQL querying and data modelling techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on operational data.
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement across multiple teams and functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey data insights effectively.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience using version control systems and DevOps practices (e.g., Git, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews) to manage analytics codebases efficiently
- Exposure to machine Learning, predictive modelling, or AI-driven analytics to enhance operational insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services.
- Programming knowledge in Python or R for advanced analytics and automation.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and promoting data quality standards.
- Background in mining technology environments and specific knowledge of LinkOA ADS and LinkOA AHS systems.
- Automation experience to streamline data preparation and reporting processes.
