We are now seeking an experienced and collaborative R&D Material Handling Transfer Lead – Australia to join our global Underground Division R&D team and play a critical role in connecting our customers, Customer Centers and R&D teams.
About the role
As the R&D Material Handling Transfer Lead – Australia, you will act as the key link between local mining operations, customers, Customer Centers and our global R&D organisation. Based in Australia, you will work closely with both local and international stakeholders to ensure valuable operational and technical insights are effectively translated into product improvements and innovation opportunities.
This is a highly collaborative and customer-facing role focused on supporting the ongoing development of Epiroc’s underground loaders, trucks and automation solutions. You will help ensure that customer feedback, operational performance data and field learnings are communicated efficiently to R&D, enabling faster development cycles and stronger customer outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the technical and operational bridge between R&D, Customer Centers and customers across Australia
- Support and lead field tests, product trials and product introduction activities
- Analyse machine productivity, reliability and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities
- Facilitate clear and effective technical communication between stakeholders
- Capture customer challenges and translate them into actionable technical feedback for R&D teams
- Support regional collaboration initiatives, projects and external partnerships
- Provide guidance on internal processes and identify key technical contacts across the region
- Contribute to the successful rollout and continuous improvement of loaders, trucks and automation systems
About you
You are a technically capable and relationship-driven professional with strong mining industry experience and a passion for innovation and customer success.
You bring:
- Strong understanding of underground loaders, trucks and automation systems within mining operations
- The ability to identify operational challenges and translate them into meaningful technical insights
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build long-term customer relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- A proactive mindset and genuine curiosity to understand customer needs and operational environments
A relevant engineering qualification is preferred; however, significant industry experience within a related field may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Location & travel
This role is based in Australia, with flexibility to be located near one of our branches or key mining regions. Frequent travel to customer sites and stakeholder locations will be required.
