We are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join and support our team!

As a Health and Safety Advisor, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all health and safety regulations and guidelines are followed. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and other professionals to identify potential safety hazards and risks associated with equipment and processes, and develop strategies to eliminate or minimize those risks.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Conducting risk assessments and safety audits of mining systems to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Developing safety policies and procedures.
  • Providing safety training to personnel.
  • Monitoring and analysing safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Advising management on safety issues.
  • Investigating accidents and incidents and recommending corrective actions.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Representing the company in discussions with regulatory bodies and industry groups on health and safety matters.

 
Key requirements of the role include:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, with experience in a similar role within the resources industry
  • Demonstrated safety leadership with an ability and engage and influence various stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create rapport with people at all levels
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment as well as be autonomous when required
  • Demonstrate a ‘can do’ approach - someone who can be relied on to get the job done
  • Have strong time management and multi-tasking abilities
  • Be flexible and organised with great attention to detail
  • Have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
