THE OPPORTUNITY:
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Pump Technician to join our workshop team in Neerabup.
This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced technician who can work independently, confidently diagnose faults and complete high-quality pump repairs and overhauls. You will also provide technical guidance to other team members and help maintain high standards of safety, workmanship and workshop efficiency.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting inspections, testing, fault-finding, servicing and repairs of submersible pumps and associated equipment
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and recommending appropriate repair solutions
- Completing complex pump repairs and overhauls to the required technical and quality standards
- Providing technical support, guidance and on-the-job mentoring to less experienced technicians
- Conducting final inspections and testing to confirm equipment is safe, compliant and ready for return to service
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of workshop repairs and priorities
- Accurately completing repair reports, delivery dockets and other workshop documentation
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and customers regarding repairs, technical requirements and job progress
- Loading and unloading pumps, parts and stock from couriers and delivery vehicles
- Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organised workshop
- Completing deliveries and travelling to customer sites, including underground mining locations, as required
- Identifying opportunities to improve workshop processes, safety and service quality
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Demonstrated experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing pumps, rotating equipment or similar mechanical equipment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities
- The ability to complete repairs independently and consistently deliver a high standard of workmanship
- Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring to less experienced team members
- A mechanical trade qualification or substantial relevant industry experience
- Sound knowledge of workshop tools, equipment and safe work practices
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A reliable and professional approach, with pride in the quality of your work
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A strong commitment to a ZERO Harm culture
- A current Australian ‘C’ Class driver’s licence
- The ability and willingness to travel to customer and underground mine sites when required
The following qualifications will be highly regarded:
- Previous experience with submersible pumps
- Experience working within the mining, dewatering or industrial services sectors
- MR or HR class driver’s licence
- High Risk Work Licence – Forklift
- Current LVR and CPR certification
