Job description

The Strategic Advisor leads the execution of the Parts & Services APAC Division’s inorganic growth strategy by identifying, evaluating, and acquiring companies that complement and strengthen Epiroc’s service and digitalization portfolio. The role involves full ownership of the transaction process—including target screening, financial analysis and valuation, due diligence, negotiations, and integration planning. The Advisor works closely with country teams, external advisors, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure smooth deal execution and value creation, while also mentoring junior team members and supporting the development of strategic capabilities.


You will have a key role in the division management team, participate in business development activities, and thereby actively contribute in developing our business in line with our strategy for growth.

Main responsibilities

  • Define and refresh M&A strategy aligned with Divisional business plans
  • Actively scout new opportunities and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities.
  • Contribute subject-matter expertise across all relevant functions – including markets, customers, operations, technology, finance, HR, and SHEQ – to support target screening and due diligence. Lead integration planning and own delivery of synergies post-close. Coordinate resources for each project needed across all relevant functions, as well.
  • Support to appoint an integrator for each transaction and hold overall responsibility for integration execution and outcomes
  • Directly liaise with Group Strategy and M&A team
  • Project manage the end-to-end process from pipeline through post-close for M&A or partnerships, ensuring that a valid business case is developed and championed, and maintain the relationship with target company(ies) throughout.
  • Primarily responsible for PSD APAC but may be called to contribute to other Business Area initiatives as needed.
  • Advise and participate in other ad hoc initiatives
  • Safeguard governance and shareholder value by applying the Epiroc Way of M&A – ensuring consistent methodologies, realistic valuation and synergies, and high-quality decision materials for President, CEO, CFO, negotiations, and execution.
  • Lead post-deal reviews vs Plan and KPIs

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years of M&A experience, with a focus on Parts & Services, Industrial Equipment, or related industries; experience in end-to-end M&A transactions (from pipeline building to post-close integration) is mandatory.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and due diligence processes; familiar with APAC M&A regulations and cross-border transaction practices; experience with M&A tools is a plus.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Negotiation & Communication: Strong cross-cultural negotiation skills, ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (country teams, Group M&A) and external parties (target companies, advisors, lawyers).
  • Project Management: Excellent end-to-end project management skills, ability to manage multiple M&A projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and resolve project bottlenecks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to coordinate resources across finance, HR, operations, technology, and SHEQ teams, drive cross-departmental alignment for due diligence and integration.
  • Risk Management: Strong ability to identify and mitigate M&A risks (financial, legal, operational, compliance) and ensure adherence to Epiroc Way of M&A.
  • Mentoring & Leadership: Ability to mentor junior team members, build M&A capabilities within the division, and lead integration teams effectively.

Reporting Line

  • Reporting Line: Directly reports to the Parts & Services APAC Division President.
  • Works closely with Group Strategy and M&A team and country-level business teams.

Work Location & Travel Requirement

  • Work Location: This position can be based anywhere in the APAC region.
  • Travel Requirement: 30-40% travel within APAC region to support target screening, due diligence, and integration activities.

  • 60% part time role, with flexibility to ramp up to 100% as project deliverables dictate.
