Shift Breakdown Technician

Mission of the role/role pitch:
Join us as a Shift Breakdown Technician and play a key role in maintaining and optimizing autonomous drilling equipment. You will support daily operations, drive equipment reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while always ensuring safety and compliance.
Your Mission
- Perform planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and resolve breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Support autonomous systems: Troubleshoot and optimise RCS, sensors, and automation technologies.
- Drive reliability: Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring equipment failures.
- Ensure safety and compliance: Adhere to all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Monitor and report performance: Provide accurate maintenance reports and feedback to stakeholders.
- Engage with stakeholders: Work closely with site teams, product specialists, and clients.
- Support continuous improvement: Contribute to productivity initiatives, optimisation projects, and best practices.
- Coach and support team members: Share knowledge and guide technical assistants/juniors.
Your Profile:
- Grade 12 (Essential)
- Recognised Trade Certificate (e.g., Diesel Mechanic, Millwright or similar)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mining or heavy equipment environments
- Proven experience on Epiroc or similar OEM surface rotary blasthole drills
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical expertise
- Experience with automation systems, RCS, or digital mining technologies (advantageous)
- Trimble High Precision GPS experience (advantageous)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently with high integrity and professionalism
