We are looking for an experienced Azure Databricks Data Engineer to help build and scale our enterprise data platform. In this role, you will design and operationalize data pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives across the organization.

Your Mission
This Azure Databricks Data Engineer role is primarily responsible for building and operating enterprise-grade data pipelines on the Azure Databricks platform. The focus is on ingesting data from multiple sources, transforming it into trusted and usable formats, and making it available for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML workloads.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing scalable Spark-based pipelines using Databricks (batch + streaming)
- Implementing data transformations using Delta Lake to ensure reliable, performant datasets
- Managing governance and security using Unity Catalog (permissions, lineage, metadata)
- Operationalizing workloads through orchestration (Databricks Jobs, DLT, structured streaming)
- Ensuring pipelines are production-ready through monitoring, error handling, and performance tuning
- Supporting automation and CI/CD practices to enable controlled deployments and lifecycle management in Azure
Your Profile
We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure Databricks and experience delivering production-grade data platforms.
Technical skills
- Solid hands-on experience with Azure Databricks
- Strong knowledge of Apache Spark (PySpark / Scala, Spark SQL)
- Good understanding of Delta Lake, including ACID transactions, partitioning, schema management, and incremental/CDC processing
Data engineering & platform development
- Experience designing scalable data pipelines (e.g., bronze/silver/gold architecture)
- Working with both batch and streaming data processing
- Building modular and reusable transformation frameworks
Governance & security
- Experience with Unity Catalog (data access control, permissions, lineage, auditability)
- Understanding of secure data access models in multi-team environments
Performance & operations
- Ability to optimize and troubleshoot Spark workloads (performance tuning, partitioning, scaling)
- Familiar with monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines
Azure ecosystem
- Integration experience with ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory/Synapse, Key Vault, and Azure AD (Entra ID)
DevOps & engineering practices
- Experience working with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to Databricks deployment automation (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform) is a plus

You prefer an automation-first approach and work collaboratively with others to deliver value. You are also motivated to continuously improve and simplify how things are done
Location and other
This position is located in Prague, Czech Republic. Remote work within the Czech Republic combined with occasional in-office collaboration is fully supported. No regular travel is required; occasional team or strategy meetings within Europe may occur.
This position is open to candidates who are already based in Czech republoc. Due to the urgency of the recruitment, we are not able to support or consider international relocations - including relocation at one’s own expense - and no relocation package is offered.
