In this role, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for delivering comprehensive financial analysis, developing and maintaining financial models, and preparing key financial reports-including budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses-to support strategic decision‑making. The position monitors critical financial metrics, partners with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, and contributes to month‑end and year‑end close activities. It also involves preparing presentations for senior leadership, conducting market and industry research to inform strategic initiatives, and supporting the development of financial policies while providing ad hoc analysis and participating in special projects

Knowledge/Education:

• A successful candidate must have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to perform comprehensive financial analysis and build advanced financial models. 
• They need deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards, along with proficiency in Excel, financial planning tools, and ERP systems. 
• The role requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong decision‑making capabilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating across departments and presenting insights to senior leadership. 
• Candidates must also bring at least five years of financial analysis experience-ideally in the mining or manufacturing sector-and hold a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with an MBA or CFA preferred.

• A successful Senior Financial Analyst in this role demonstrates strong analytical thinking and approaches problems with a data‑driven, detail‑oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in financial models, reporting, and insights.  They show proactive ownership of their work, managing multiple priorities effectively and working both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment. 
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential-this includes clearly presenting financial insights to management and working constructively with cross‑functional teams to gather accurate data. 
• The role also calls for a continuous‑improvement mentality, supporting development of financial policies and procedures while adapting to new tools, processes, and strategic initiatives. 
• Additionally, behaviors such as curiosity, initiative, and adaptability are key, especially when conducting market research, engaging in special projects, and responding to ad hoc analysis needs.
