Job Description: Senior Service Engineer /Service Specialist

The Senior Service Engineer / Service Specialist is responsible for ensuring high equipment availability, leading advanced maintenance activities, and providing technical expertise across mining and drilling equipment. The role demands strong troubleshooting skills, deep technical knowledge of HEMM & surface drilling equipment, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to guide on‑ground teams and channel partners. The position also supports contract execution, customer satisfaction, reliability improvement, and continuous operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety, Compliance & Workplace Standards

• Drive a ZERO‑INJURY culture and ensure full compliance with SHE guidelines.

• Ensure implementation of housekeeping, 5S, SOP, SMP, and safety standards at all work locations.

• Participate in workplace safety audits, hazard identification, and SHE incident reporting with corrective actions.

2. Technical Service Execution

• Perform daily, scheduled, breakdown, and corrective maintenance activities to achieve targeted availability, MTTR, and MTBF.

• Lead advanced troubleshooting for CAN‑BUS, hydraulic, and electrical systems on surface drill rigs and HEMM.

• Conduct RCA, FMEA, failure analysis, and implement improvement actions.

• Implement predictive maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.

3. Fleet, Operations & Asset Optimization

• Monitor fleet performance, machine health, and operational KPIs.

• Ensure optimum availability of critical components, floats, and sub‑assemblies.

• Strengthen preventive maintenance discipline, backlog management, and statutory compliance.

4. Customer & Contract Support

• Manage technical interactions with key customers, ensuring timely complaint resolution.

• Support contract execution under AMC, FMSC.

• Provide detailed shift, daily, and monthly technical reports.

5. Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Guide service technicians and channel partner teams in best practices.

• Conduct technical training and skill‑upgradation programs.

• Support manpower planning and shift operations.

6. Continuous Improvement & Reporting

• Participate in Kaizen and AO initiatives.

• Use data analysis to improve reliability, safety, and performance indicators.

• Ensure accurate documentation of complaints and maintenance logs.

Qualifications:

 • BE / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

• 6-10 years of experience in servicing HEMM, surface drill machines, or related heavy equipment.

• Experience with reliability engineering and predictive maintenance tools.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong technical competency in hydraulic, electrical, and CAN‑BUS systems.

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in MS Office.

• Strong communication, customer focus, and leadership ability.

• High discipline in safety, documentation, and operational procedures.
