Service Technician
Mission of the role:
As a Service Technician within our Equipment & Service business area, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the functionality and safety of Epiroc equipment. This position is based onsite at our Waterval Mine Service Center in Rustenburg, South Africa, and requires working in a collaborative team environment with a strong customer focus.
Your mission:
- Operate in compliance with all safety protocols and company standards to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Perform general maintenance and servicing tasks on used Epiroc equipment and components within a workshop setting.
- Conduct thorough inspections of new Epiroc equipment, identifying any issues and ensuring compliance with quality standards before deployment.
- Disassemble and reassemble Epiroc equipment and components with precision, ensuring all parts meet operational specifications.
- Maintain general housekeeping, ensuring that tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and safe.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve service goals and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Collect and accurately document technical information from Epiroc systems to support maintenance and service records.
- Engage professionally with customers, providing timely updates and representing the Epiroc brand with integrity and respect.
- Maintain accurate administration and documentation of all service activities to support traceability and quality assurance.
Your Profile:
- Matric / Grade 12 certification or equivalent.
- Formal artisan trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
- Experience working underground within mining environments, demonstrating knowledge of safety and operational challenges.
- Technical hands-on experience with mining equipment, including repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, with the ability to navigate technical databases and retrieve relevant service information.
- The ability to read and interpret technical, hydraulic, and electrical diagrams to diagnose and solve equipment issues.
