Mission of the Role:
Join us as a Stores Assistant. You will play a vital role in overseeing day-to-day warehouse and store operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, documentation, and compliance with company procedures. This role includes working with a team of storemen, coordinating warehouse activities, and maintaining accurate stock records to support production and customer service goals..
Your Mission:
- Ensure compliance with environment, health, and safety standards, including PPE use, housekeeping, and incident reporting.
- Lead and supervise storemen by allocating tasks and overseeing daily operations such as receiving, storing, issuing, and dispatching stock.
- Manage inventory control for stock and non-stock items, preventing shortages, overstocking, and excess returns.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through system updates, cycle counts, stock takes, and prompt resolution of discrepancies.
- Plan and expedite spare parts and stock requirements in collaboration with management and service teams.
- Process and manage all warehouse documentation in line with audit and compliance standards.
- Monitor goods in transit, manage repair components, and ensure system accuracy (M3).
- Identify process gaps, implement improvements, and prepare regular inventory reports.
- Coordinate with internal departments to support business needs and provide standby, callout, or overtime support when required.
Your Profile:
- Grade 12 or equivalent; further certification in logistics or warehouse management is an advantage
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a warehouse/store environment, with at least 1 year in an admin role
- Familiarity with stock control processes and warehouse procedures
- Must be willing to work shifts
