Join our dynamic manufacturing team within the Rock Drilling Tools Division at Epiroc, a global leader driving sustainable progress in mining and construction industries. As a General Worker, you play a critical role in helping us achieve operational excellence by supporting production activities aligned with our strict quality, environmental, health, and safety standards.
Mission of the role:
This onsite position focuses on supporting the manufacturing operations by ensuring production activities adhere strictly to company standards, schedules, and quality specifications. You will be responsible for operating various equipment safely and efficiently, assisting with product finishing and setup tasks, and being proactive in maintaining a clean and organized work environment following Lean principles and the 5S methodology.
Your Mission:
- Maintain accurate time and attendance records, demonstrating punctuality and reliability.
- Exhibit strong self-discipline by adhering to all company rules, health and safety regulations, and quality protocols.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
- Operate band saws, overhead cranes, and forklifts efficiently while complying with operational standards and safety guidelines.
- Support deburring operations to ensure smooth and flawless product finishes.
- Assist with basic CNC machine operations when needed, contributing to flexible production support.
- Stop any production process immediately if quality deviates from specified standards, raising red flags for quality assurance.
- Ensure strict adherence to production schedules and help the team meet or exceed daily output targets.
- Follow work instructions and drawings precisely to uphold product quality and specification compliance.
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles and maintain the workplace according to 5S standards to foster efficiency and safety.
- Contribute positively to 'The Way We Do Things' ethos by embracing teamwork and continuous improvement.
Your Profile:
- Minimum of a Matric certificate with strong mathematics skills essential for understanding production requisites and measurements.
- At least 2 years of relevant manufacturing environment experience, demonstrating a proven ability to handle general production tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in operating band saws; possession of an overhead crane and forklift license is highly advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of CNC operations will be considered a plus.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings.
- Good understanding of Lean manufacturing processes and commitment to 5S workplace organization.
