Join Our Team as a Project Manager - Central North (Contract)

 

Position Type: This is a full-time, onsite role supporting our client contract with a minimum expected duration of 2-years, with the opportunity for extension based on project continuity.
 

Epiroc Canada is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our equipment maintenance and product support operations Borden Mine, Chapleau Ontario.

 

Reporting to the Service Manager – Central North, the Project Manager will be responsible for the overall performance, safety, and execution of a major customer maintenance contract. This role provides leadership to onsite supervisory personnel while ensuring contractual commitments, equipment availability targets, operational KPIs, and customer expectations are successfully achieved.

 

The successful candidate will serve as the primary operational liaison with the customer and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, workforce productivity, safety performance, and operational effectiveness.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage onsite maintenance and product support operations to ensure safe, efficient, and productive execution of work.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to Site Supervisors and site personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with Epiroc safety standards, customer requirements, and applicable legislation.
  • Monitor equipment performance, reliability, availability, and maintenance compliance against established KPIs.
  • Oversee maintenance planning activities, work prioritization, and execution strategies to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Manage inventory requirements, critical spare parts planning, and coordination with Supply Chain teams.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and operational leadership.
  • Lead operational review meetings and coordinate action plans to address performance gaps and ongoing operational issues.
  • Ensure contractual obligations, service-level agreements, and customer commitments are achieved.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, labour planning, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, equipment reliability, safety outcomes, and overall contract results.
  • Manage operational risks and support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven decision making.

 

Qualifications

  • Trade certification, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in heavy equipment, mining equipment, industrial maintenance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of mining, heavy equipment, or maintenance experience.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a mining, industrial, or heavy equipment environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mining operations, equipment maintenance, and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements and risk management practices.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience using CMMS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Epiroc SDE, LHD, and TME experience is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's licence.

 

Working Conditions

  • Based onsite at Borden Mine, Chapleau Ontario.
  • Work is performed in an active mining environment and requires adherence to all site access and safety requirements.
  • Rotation schedule to be communicated during the recruitment process.

Expected compensation range: $100,000- $130,000
