Mission :

To ensure that the shift maintenance is conducted within the required parameters for Legal requirements, Safety and Environment requirements, Maintenance and Performance requirement, Quality requirements and Financial limits. The incumbent is also to Report any contraventions of standards, Legal requirements or procedures as well as health and safety hazards to his immediate manager after he has done all that are reasonably possible to rectify the situation. 

Job Description :

  • Supervise first line staff, maintenance team, plan and schedule, and oversee tasks and activities.
  • Ensure maintenance standards are adhered to and that continuous improvement takes place.
  • Enforce Epiroc policies and guidelines as described in “Epiroc Way”.
  • Maintain high quality of service delivered under all circumstances.
  • Efficiently support the Epiroc labor’s variable compensation, compile and keep the monthly report.
  • Drive for process improvement, control stock and non-stock supplies.
  • Report at required intervals about team performance and other agreed parameters.
  • Report and conduct investigation into all instances of service failure / non conformance and recommend action to be taken to prevent recurrence with approval from the Manager, initiate remedial action.
  • Ensure control and proper use of workshop vehicles, tools, equipment and consumable storage area and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Evaluate the training needs of all Service Engineers/Technicians.
  • Assist with “operator” training and briefing in operator checks, maintenance and operating procedures and techniques for customer, employees, appropriate to the equipment under our portfolio.
  • Accept full responsibility and accountability for all work designated to him within his area of responsibility.
  • Keep proper record of all work done in logbooks provided for all machinery and equipment in his area.
  • Keep and collect record/reports of breakdowns, call-outs, spares usage etc. for all equipment in his area of responsibility and for the interest of continual condition monitoring purposes.
  • Evaluate customer satisfaction and take corrective criteria when required.
  • Hold safety meetings in coordination with safety supervisor with all his sub ordinates daily and also after an accident incident in his section.
  • Monitor and schedule leaves for all his sub-ordinates.
  • Support and administer planning and administrative systems and processes within the area of responsibility.
  • Any other tasks that maybe assigned from time to time.
  • Participate in the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Triple Certification Systems: Health and Safety of all employees, customers, and contractors as your first priority per ISO 45001:2018 and RA 11058, Reducing our impact upon the Environment with ISO 14001:2015, Consistency in Quality service delivery using ISO 9001:2015.
  • Support the Manager in all aspects of business operations. 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in technical troubleshooting, heavy equipment maintenance, must have an experience in underground mining equipment maintenance and operations, with atleast 2 years supervisory experience. 
  • Technical knowledge related to preventive maintenance of heavy equipment, knows how to interpret blueprints and schematic diagram.
  • Graduate of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any related Engineering courses.
  • Mature with strong self-discipline and demonstrate leadership example at all times.
  • Able to work in stressful environment.
  • Fully committed to achieve and complete goals with good result.
  • Ability to work and guide a team of people.
