Job Description: Central Planner

 

1. PM Kit Planning & Maintenance Scheduling
•    Ensure timely booking and scheduling of PM kits to support on-time delivery to sites in line with the maintenance schedule of the complete fleet.
•    Analyze PM kit consumption and inventory levels to identify overstocking and understocking.
•    Review and ensure adherence to defined SOPs and planning processes.
•    Monitor and drive quarterly closure of PM jobs.
2. Major Component & Rebuild Planning
•    Forecast and plan major component replacements based on equipment utilization, operating hours and replacement trends.
•    Ensure optimum availability of float components to minimize equipment downtime and maximize fleet availability.
•    Coordinate closely with Rebuild Centre to streamline repair, rebuild and component turnaround activities.
3. Site Planner Support & Capability Development
•    Guide and mentor site planners on BPCS, planning processes and related daily activities.
•    Monitor planning performance and deviations and drive timely corrective actions.
•    Ensure consistent application of planning standards and SOPs across sites.
4. Inventory & Procurement Optimisation
•    Conduct weekly reviews of inventory procurement in coordination with the Inbound Replenishment team to ensure optimum inventory levels and avoid unnecessary procurement.
•    Review site demand bookings on a weekly basis and ensure demand corrections are made in accordance with defined guidelines and SOPs.
•    Review and maintain stocking policies for the Central Warehouse and raise/update 'Stocking Request Tool' requirements for critical spares.
•    Provide data-driven recommendations to the Regional Planning Expert for changes in forecasting, stocking policies and replenishment parameters.
•    Drive internal redistribution of inventory across sites in accordance with policy, coordinating with Order Fulfilment and Logistics teams.
5. ERP, Data & Process Management
•    Analyse ERP metrics and performance indicators from GIM/BPCS and provide actionable insights to process owners for necessary corrections and improvements.
•    Act as the process owner and SPOC for the ERP-based parts issuance and procurement web application, including:User access and maintenance
o    SOP adherence
o    Application enhancements and amendments
o    Issue resolution and continuous improvement
•    Ensure the availability of accurate and consistent business data for equipment cost models, forecasting and planning tools.
6. Order Fulfilment & Demand Management
•    Coordinate with the Order Fulfilment team to review order bookings and identify potential errors, gaps or deviations.
•    Recommend corrective actions to improve order accuracy, fulfilment performance and customer service.
•    Ensure demand planning activities are aligned with actual equipment requirements and maintenance plans.

7. OEM & Supplier Coordination
•    Act as the technical and commercial SPOC with engine OEMs, dealers and strategic suppliers.
•    Coordinate critical spare parts stocking, engine rebuilds, repairs and other major component requirements.
•    Ensure timely escalation and resolution of critical supply and technical issues to minimise equipment downtime.

 

Qualification, Skills and Experience: 

 

•    B.Tech in Mining Machinery/Mechanical/ Automobile Engineering.
•    Minimum 5 Years of relevant experience & hands on experience with MS office, ERP.
•    Exposure in maintenance planning and larger projects with increased resources being introduced.
•    Understanding of parts inventory system, Min, Max guidelines, COGS management
•    Knowledge of contract management and vendor development.
•    Supply chain and Six sigma certification are an added advantage.
