Job Description:
Epiroc India is looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to lead end-to-end service and maintenance operations for the Zawar group of mines under the PSD-HZL contract. This senior leadership role demands strong operational control, people development, customer relationship management, and a relentless commitment to safety and performance excellence.
You will be the key link between Epiroc and HZL site leadership, responsible for achieving contractual KPIs, optimizing operational costs, improving processes, and driving high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Safety, Compliance & Governance
· Our aim is to achieve Zero Injury
· Drive a strong culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility.
· Ensure adherence to Epiroc’s values, ethical standards, and contract obligations.
🔹 People Leadership & Capability Building
· Lead EMIL employees and additional workforce deployed at the mines.
· Develop teams through mentoring, upskilling, competency matrices, and SL1/SL2 certifications.
· Manage full Hire-to-Retire cycles in collaboration with HR.
🔹 Contract & Customer Management
· Review contract performance regularly and ensure services meet customer requirements.
· Identify risks and opportunities and drive mitigation or improvement actions.
· Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure satisfaction indicators remain high.
🔹 Operations & Asset Optimization
· Improve operational efficiency by eliminating waste and optimizing asset performance.
· Ensure >90% availability of critical parts and maintain effective inventory levels.
· Strengthen preventive maintenance, backlog management, and adherence to SOPs.
🔹 Financial, Planning & Reporting
· Achieve contractual KPIs covering sales, cost, margins, and profitability.
· Approve major component planning and stock level requirements.
· Maintain financial control over site operations and prepare monthly performance reports.
🔹 Continuous Improvement & Technical Excellence
· Promote Kaizen initiatives and innovative work practices.
· Ensure Epiroc practices are benchmarked to industry standards.
· Utilize data to improve decision-making and operational insights.
Qualifications & Experience
· Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Education in Management is preferred
· Minimum 15 years in supervisory leadership roles managing large maintenance teams (~100+).
· Experience in contract execution in mining or heavy equipment environments.
· Strong understanding of equipment costs, reliability engineering, CAPEX/OPEX, and costing models.
