We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sr. Service Engineer specializing in truck systems to join our Customer Center team at Epiroc. This role demands a professional with solid technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering aspects of heavy mining equipment, particularly trucks, who thrives in a safety-conscious and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company and regulatory safety policies to maintain a secure workplace, ensuring not only personal safety but also the safety of the entire operations team.
- Fleet Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Availability, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Maintenance Cost to optimize truck fleet functionality.
- Preventive and Scheduled Maintenance: Execute and oversee preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance practices designed to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Breakdown Diagnosis and Repair: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to identify and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic failures efficiently and effectively.
- Coordination with Operations: Collaborate closely with mine operations teams to plan maintenance activities, minimize disruptions, and support smooth equipment utilization.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance actions, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring accuracy for audit and continuous improvement purposes.
- Expertise in Systems: Manage critical truck systems including powertrain, driveline, transmission, differential, axle, suspension, braking, steering, and articulation to maintain optimal performance.
- Hydraulic System Management: Perform pressure testing, hydraulic performance analysis, and component overhauls while enforcing contamination control protocols for reliable machine operation.
- Electrical System Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough diagnostics of electrical circuits, CAN Bus systems, sensors, actuators, alternators, starter motors, and charging systems using specialized tools such as multimeters and diagnostic software.
Competences, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Two to five years of relevant experience working with mining truck equipment or similar heavy machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to diagnose and rectify intricate faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical domains.
- Proficient understanding of maintenance methodologies: preventive, predictive, and condition-based.
- Hands-on experience with powertrain assemblies, suspension systems, braking, steering mechanisms, and hydraulic components.
- Competence in electrical troubleshooting, including CAN Bus systems and sensor diagnostics.
- Advanced use of technical tools such as multimeters, hydraulic testing devices, and diagnostic software platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and technical manuals.
