Heavy Equipment Mechanic

· Assign work to team members and follow up on its progress and quality;

· Provide daily guidance, answer questions and share technical knowledge with the team;

· Inspect equipment, diagnose malfunctions and determine the repairs, parts and tools required;

· Disassemble, repair, adjust or replace defective components, and perform routine maintenance;

· Prepare work orders and coordinate parts requirements with management and procurement;

· Communicate professionally with customers and respond to their needs;

· Suggest improvements to work methods and keep the work area clean and organized;

· Ensure the team follows health and safety procedures and wears the required personal protective equipment.

· Vocational diploma in mine mobile equipment mechanics;

· Five years of experience as a mine mobile equipment mechanic;

· Heavy equipment technician licence and membership in the Ontario College of Trades;

· Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics;

· Ability to coordinate work, solve problems and work independently;

· Knowledge of the mining industry and proficiency in spoken and written English;

· Common Core U0000, U0001, U0002 and U0012 (an asset).
