As a Service Technician - Electrical, you will play a critical role in sustaining and enhancing the performance of mining construction equipment electrical systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a Product Company environment focused on tools and attachments, contributing directly to the efficiency and safety of essential heavy industry machinery.
About the Role
In this role, you will undertake comprehensive responsibilities centered on the electrical systems of mining construction equipment. You will oversee major repairs, remanufacturing, upgrades, and retrofits, ensuring that all equipment operates at optimal performance levels post-service. Your expertise will be vital during on-site technical services, enabling you to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Major Repairs & Remanufacturing: Conduct detailed inspections and restoration of electrical systems, including core components like motors, generators, and high-voltage switchgear. Participate in system assessments, reverse engineering, and develop tailored repair and remanufacturing strategies. Lead the assembly, rigorous testing, and acceptance processes for critical electrical components.
- Upgrades & Retrofits: Head hardware and software update projects that reflect customer needs and emerging technological advancements. Responsibilities include redesigning electrical systems, electrical schematic drawing, wiring harness planning, and selecting appropriate components to enhance system functionality.
- Testing & Commissioning: Manage pre-delivery electrical testing to ensure all refurbished or upgraded machinery meets stringent performance standards. Lead installation supervision, system commissioning, and trial runs to guarantee seamless integration between electrical and mechanical subsystems.
- Field Service & Technical Support: Provide rapid response and expert troubleshooting for after-sales electrical faults through both on-site and remote services. Deliver comprehensive training programs to customers, emphasizing operational safety, routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and prevention strategies. Prepare and maintain clear technical documentation such as maintenance guides and fault handling manuals.
- Technical Documentation & Spare Parts Management: Create standardized reports covering installation, commissioning, and after-sales service. Collaborate in spare parts planning and inventory management to maintain a reliable supply chain of essential electrical components.
- Other Duties: Undertake additional tasks as assigned by supervisors to support the continuous improvement of service quality and operational efficiency.
Required Competences, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or closely related fields.
- Preferred: Registered Professional Electrical Engineer certification.
- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical systems within mining equipment, construction machinery, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Experience with major equipment repair projects, remanufacturing, and upgrade/retrofit initiatives.
- Deep understanding of electrical control principles and familiarity with sensors, PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and related electrical components specific to mining applications.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and commissioning, knowledgeable with prominent brands like Siemens and Mitsubishi, alongside HMI debugging skills.
- Skilled in electrical design software including CAD and EPLAN, complemented by strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to independently design, install, commission, and troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
- Knowledge of mining safety regulations and applicable laws and standards governing electrical systems in the industry.
- Good command of English for reading and writing, enabling effective interpretation of technical drawings, standards, and documentation.

Workplace and Reporting
This role is located at our Xi'an Development Office under the Rock Drilling Tools Division within GIA (Zhangjiakou) Construction & Mining Equipment Ltd. You will report directly to your appointed supervisor and interface regularly with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
